Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, also NLU Visakhapatnam or DSNLU, is one of the NLUs in India. It was established in 2008 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam, under the DSNLU Act, 2008. It was first named as “Andhra Pradesh of University Law” which was later changed to “Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University” in 2012. It is a state-level university that is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In 2019, it was ranked 18 among all NLUs by the CLAT cut off. Presently, the University offers BA LLB (Hons), LLM, PhD, LLD and PG diploma programmes under various specialisations of Law. All the courses offered by the University are approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Apart from the regular classes, the University also conducts moot court competitions for its students. Currently, it has more than 20 visiting and permanent faculty members.
