In order to develop flexible and innovative academic research programmes in developing areas, especially the developing areas of Tribal population of Gujarat.; for the rapid development and growth of tribal areas, and to provide world class education in different streams like technical, skill based, vocational, management, tourism, tribal arts, culture and traditional value system and other related areas, to provide infrastructure and research facilities in tribal art, culture, tradition, language, tribal medicine, customs, forest based economic activities, flora and fauna and advancement in technologies relating to the natural resources of tribal areas and matters connected therewith, I have been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Birsa Munda Tribal University, Rajpipla by Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our beloved honourable prime minister, Shree Narendrabhai Modi, for whom this university is a dream project. On the very outset, I also extend my gratitude to honourable Governor of Gujarat, Shree Acharya Deyvrat, honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shree Vijaybhai Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Shree Nitinbhai Patel and Tribal Minister of Gujarat Shree Ganpatbhai Vasava for selecting me as first Vice-Chancellor of Birsa Munda Tribal University established by Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar.

I am deeply committed to fulfil the dream of Government by making a model university established in a tribal area. This is a new university functioning in an academically and socially backward area, Hence I can see a huge scope to implement the reforms proposed by The Government of India, M.H.R.D. and U.G.C.. Since this is a golden period in the history of the university, it is my responsibility to see that the university progresses in the right direction from the very beginning. Its importance in a country like India aligns with the aspiration of being a part of global knowledge. My first priority is to start U.G. and P.G. programmes and to recruit competent and dedicated academician as early as possible, to create an educational environment as well as a research-oriented environment in the university campus and to establish the required infrastructure needed to start Post graduation courses, l commit myself and promise to remain consistently active for quality and excellence on the aspect of higher education and to fulfil the goals of the university.
