From time immemorial, India has been the center of knowledge worship. This Shabdi Sadhna, expressed in the unlimited scriptures of sages, incarnated on this earth in the form of Shruti. It is a universal fact that Rigveda is the first book of human library. Indian wisdom flourished and blossomed by the worship of Richas, the jhankriti of materials, the yajan of Yajurmantras and the peace-deeds of Atharvans. Shruti-trampara of Vedas, while spreading its knowledge, Upanishads, Ashtadash Purana, Shiksha-Kalpa-Nirukta-Grammar-Jyotish-Chhanda, Yogatantra, Shaddarshan, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Lalit Kavya, Ethics etc. have given invaluable literature to the world for the benefit of all the people. gave . As a result of the development of this multi-faceted literature, the fame of the Indians as Agrajanma became and the knowledge of the Vedas became synonymous with the Indian Manisha. In this way, the pride of being the conductor of Indian culture goes to Sanskrit language.
The secret of the timelessness of this huge Sanskrit literature is that it has been taught in Gurukulas and Rishikulas etc. for thousands of years. Giving a well-planned form to this teacher-disciple tradition, many Sanskrit study centers continued to run across the country. In the same tradition, many Sanskrit universities were established in the 20th century. Sanskrit universities were running in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh etc. for the last many years. In this sequence, the efforts going on for years for the establishment of Rajasthan Sanskrit University were successful in the year 2001.
Along with conducting Sangopang study and teaching of the entire Sanskrit literature, arranging for continuous expert research and other subjects related to it, and presenting a practical explanation with simple scientific method based on the research of knowledge-science contained in Sanskrit literature, as well as other important researches. Rajasthan Sanskrit University Act 1998 (Act 10 of 1998) was approved by His Excellency the Governor on 2-9-1998 for the establishment of Sanskrit University in the State of Rajasthan with the objective of bringing the results and achievements to light.
On February 6, 2001, the Rajasthan Sanskrit University took shape and its first Vice-Chancellor Padma Shri Dr. Mandan Mishra was appointed.
According to the order issued by Deputy Secretary, Education (Group-6) No.P.(1) Education-6/2000 dated 27-06-2005, from 27-06-2005 the name of the university has been changed to Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University, Jaipur. has given .
